ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Kimberly Nilsson has a doctorate in clinical psychology and is the author of It’s All Grace: Surviving a Suicide to Sparkling Like a Sapphire in the Sun. For more than a decade she worked in the field of addiction as a recovery specialist in California. Though no longer in the field professionally, she continues to be passionate about helping others maintain their sobriety, mental health, and cultivating a meaningful life for the past three decades. When she met the love of her life, Nils, she left her life behind and moved to Switzerland to be with him and his four beautiful kids, eventually marrying him after a whirlwind romance. However, in 2011 her seemingly fairytale life came to an abrupt end, when she came home to find her beloved husband hanging in the carport. Since then she has had to muster all of her strength and rely on her training, become more educated about suicide and the ramifications for those left behind, not to mention her spiritual practices, to survive and flourish after the shocking way her husband ended his own—and their—life together. Committed to sobriety, helping others with their recovery, and her own spiritual journey, Kimberly now lives in the United States and is dedicated to raising awareness about addiction, mental health, and suicide prevention.
